Pretty Basic Stuff

Gaming. It’s all too easy these days! Slip a DVD into your PC, wait a few seconds for the game to load and you’re away.

It wasn’t always that way. There was a lot of hard manual labour involved if you wanted to waste endless hours playing mindless games on your computer.  code for computer gameYou could buy magazines which contained “free” games, but you first had to type in the code. What you see here was fairly typical of the stuff you were presented with. A BASIC program. If you were lucky - very lucky - the game would run first time. But think about it. The chances of you keying in that little lot without a typo or two were practically zero, and the problem then was to find the typing errors!

And sometimes typing errors could be a bit more fundamental…………
